HITZ is a progressive, high profile programme delivered by the Aviva Premiership Club, The Bath Rugby Foundation and the Wooden Spoon Children's Charity. The Hitz programme targets young people from the aged of 11-19 years at risk of exclusion and anti-social behaviour, introducing them often for the first time - to touch and contact rugby along with other sporting activity's. HITZ Bath provides NEET participants with the opportunity to access personal and social development programmes, educational support, vocational training programmes and workforce development apprenticeships and volunteering opportunities

Reduce crime and anti-social behaviour

Break down barriers which exist between communities

Increase participation in rugby

Encourage good relations between people regardless of their backgrounds

Encourage participants into regular sporting participation to receive the associated health and wellbeing benefitsof sport.

What we do

HITZ Project 16-19

A rugby based educational programme for 16-19 year old NEETS (Not in Employment, Education or Training). Initiating beahviour change to empower individuals to make informed life choices and gain educational support, vocational training programmes and workforce development apprenticeships and volunteering opportunities, while taking part in regular sporting activity.

Where we do it

The Hitz project is due to start in January 2014. Once started venue will be finalised.

Overview

Hitz rugby sessions are a way of Initiating behaviour change and to empower individuals to make informed life choices. Sessions focuses on the 5 core values of rugby, teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship. This is to make individuals understand what applies on the pitch also applies in everyday life and how they go about things

What we do

HITZ Outreach Rugby Sessions

Open rugby sessions in the park for children aged 11-19, developing links within the community and encouraging physical activity and social interaction through  tag, touch and contact rugby.  

Hitz Gym sessions

Open gym sessions in Southside youth centre gym. These session are open to boys and girls 11-19 years of age and are a opportunity for young people to come and experience a gym environment and to work on there overall fitness and wellbeing.

Hitz Outreach Rugby session - Trowbridge Town Park - Tuseday 6.30 - 7.30pm

Hitz Open Gym Sessions - Southside Youth Hub, Whiteway, Bath - Monday & Wednesday 7.00-9.00pm. Tuseday 5.00 - 6.00pm
