About BGSW Resettlement Hub

Bristol Gloucester Somerset and Wiltshire Community Rehabilitation Company (BGSW CRC) will be piloting a Resettlement Hub based in part of the Restore Trust, next to the HMP Bristol car park. The pilot is for 6 months and we are planning for the Hub to go operational at the beginning of December 2015

Attitudes, thinking and behaviour

  • New location based next door to HMP Bristol for all BGSW prison releases to attend.

  • The aim of the Hub is to engage all BGSW CRC releases from HMP Bristol and offer a first appointment on the day of release, in order to support Service Users to successfully comply with licence conditions and rehabilitate back into the community. It will also act as a reporting centre for Service Users who live within easy access to the Hub.

    The HUB will seek to provide the following services:

    • Manage and engage with all BGSW CRC service users leaving HMP Horfield.
    • Work collaboratively with Catch 22 and other agencies both voluntary and statutory who are working with our service users.
    • Ensure that the resettlement plans and any risk management plans are fully implemented on the day of release.
    • Support offenders into suitable pre-arranged accommodation and sign post and refer as needed
    • Facilitate the pre-release meetings with the mentors as part of the mentoring service.
    • Support the families of offenders who are part of the release plan by including them in discussions with the service user with their consent and sign post them to relevant services and advice as to expectations of supervision of their significant others.
