Low cost computer scheme South Glos

South Gloucestershire have teamed up with an IT provider to offer a range of low cost professionally refurbished computers to eligible residents and registered UK charities in South Gloucestershire. Both desktop and laptop computers are available under the scheme. The following options are available depending on eligibility.

Option A

  1. Desktop computer with flat screen monitor and Microsoft® Windows 7:  £101.15
  2. Laptop computer with Microsoft® Windows 7:  £143.65

To order either of these systems you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • 65 years of age or over

  • receive means tested benefit

  • are an unpaid carer

  • are registered disabled

  • living on a low income

  • have a child entitled to free school meals

    Option B

  1. Desktop computer with flat screen monitor plus Microsoft® Windows 7 and Microsoft® Office 2010: £84.15
  2. Laptop computer plus Microsoft® Windows 7 and Microsoft® Office 2010: £126.65

To order either of these systems you must be either a registered UK charity or receive at least one of the following:

  • Income Support

  • Jobseekers Allowance

  • Pension Credit

  • Disability Living Allowance/Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

  • Attendance Allowance/Constant Attendance Allowance

  • Carer’s Allowance

  • Incapacity Benefit/Employment and Support Allowance

  • disability element of working tax credit

How to apply

You will be asked to complete a simple application form and may be asked for proof of eligibility for the scheme. Full details of prices and how to order will be explained to you. To order you will need either a valid PayPal, credit or debit card or alternatively you can pay in cash at one of our libraries. Assistance with ordering is available at these organisations.
