Added: 10 October 2018

We have an exciting opportunity to join our passionate team of women working to support survivors of sexual violence.

SARSAS Counsellors

Somerset and Avon Rape and Sexual Abuse Support (SARSAS) are seeking to recruit part-time Counsellors to join our fantastic team across Somerset and Avon at locations including Somerset (Bridgwater and Glastonbury) and North Somerset (Weston Super Mare).

Counsellors will be employed on a salaried rate of £21 per hour (this is a fixed rate for all hours worked including counselling hours, admin hours and meetings).

There are number of hours available across various SARSAS sites.

SARSAS is one of the largest and busiest Rape Crisis Centres in the South West working with over 1,400 survivors every year. We provide innovative and evidence based services to enable and empower survivors of any kind of sexual violence to rebuild and transform their lives. SARSAS is an independent charity adhering to Rape Crisis (England and Wales) National Service Standards and an organisational member of BACP.

Counsellors are needed to provide one to one time-limited therapy, promoting positive outcomes for adult women and young people (aged 13 and over) and should have significant experience and skills in working with survivors of trauma including young people.

We are recruiting fully qualified counsellors who are registered and ideally accredited or eligible for/working towards accreditation, with British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), UKCP or another professional recognised body.

Minimum hours will be negotiated and are likely to increase so we are looking for counsellors with flexible availability.

Counsellors will be employed by SARSAS, a feminist organisation which strives to have attractive working conditions, including flexible working hours, professional and personal development and support and supervision packages.
