About CVS South Gloucestershire Volunteering
We were established in 2003 by local voluntary and community organisations and South Gloucestershire Council, to be the umbrella body for South Gloucestershire area. A registered Charity and company limited by guarantee we are owned and run by the local voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in South Gloucestershire.
Our Trustees are elected at our AGM from our members
Originally based in Thornbury and then the Kingswood Foundation we moved to current office at Poole Court in Yate in 2013. We are part of national movement and members of the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA).
We have a small team of staff and associates.
We provide information, advice and support to voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations in South Gloucestershire.
Our partners in South Gloucestershire are Community Ignite, Southern Brooks community Partnerships and the South Gloucestershire Volunteer Centres.

What we do
Support offered to voluntary and community organisations
Our organisation does not offer services to individuals however we offer support, representation, training and other services towards the development of voluntary and community based organisations. 
Training
We offer regular training programmes each year with a range of workshops and training sessions, covering:
- governance
- financial management
- sustainable funding
- commissioning
- good management skills
- legal responsibilities
- personal development for staff, trustees and volunteers.
Representation
We enable effective and accountable representation of the voluntary and community sector in South Gloucestershire.
Meeting Local Need
We identify gaps in voluntary and community sector services and in the development of appropriate projects to meet the needs of communities in South Gloucestershire.

Group Development: One to one support for developing your group, Management and trustee roles and responsibilities.
Networks and representation: Representation on strategic partnerships to promote the interests of the voluntary sector.
