Services we Provide

Overview

What we do

Family Support in S. Glos

Supporting families and concerned others with relevant information, coping strategies and problem management, whilst promoting the benefits of families being involved positively in treatment wherever possible.

The Families Also Matter service (FAM) - offers 1:1 counselling, 4TWO (for any two family members, including those in treatment), family conferences and family support groups.

FAM organises Saturday seminars where family members can meet in a mutually supportive environment and attend workshops.

Limited funding is available for South Gloucestershire residents to apply for a place on the Broadway Lodge Family Programmes (one day or three days). To be eligible for this programme, family members are expected to attend the family group for at least six sessions prior to application and four sessions following completion.

Overview

We work with people with any drug issue and provide a tailored package of support for each individual to support them to achieve their recovery goals.

What we do

We provide a range of services to suit all individual needs, including:

* a full individual assessment and recovery plan

* a named worker

* substitue prescribing where appropriate

* referrals for detox and rapid reduction

* a comprehensive an exciting group work program

* needle exchange

* blood born virus (BBV) testing

* safe storage boxes for medication

* stimulant service

* steroid service

* Naloxane 'save a life' training

* housing support and advice

* benefit and debt advice

* help with money management

* employment and training support

* support and activity groups

* SMART recovery groups

* support for relatives or significant others who are effected by an individuals drug use

Overview

We offer a range of interventions for people who are concerned about their alcohol use.

What we do

We provide a range of tailor made service dependant on need, including:

* an initial triage assessment - including brief advice and sign posting to relevant agencies.

* ACE - Alcohol consequences and effect - a one off course giving info regarding alcohol and its potential impact.

* The Alcohol Course - 4 week course which covers the facts in more depth with peer support.

* Abstinence based group for people who have stopped using alcohol.

* Limited places for clients with higher needs to access 1:1 support.

* Referrals to the specialist services for detox and rehab.

Reintegration workers support clients to address a range of housing related issues as well as to access employment, voluntary work, training, education
and a range of meaningful activities to support the development of self confidence, self esteem and skills.

What we do

Housing and Financial Related Support

Support to understand and access the range of housing options available including:

* accommodation in the public and private sector
* advice on homelessness
* support on housing related debt and benefit issues
* advice on budgeting and access to Credit Union services
* deposit Bond Scheme.

Where we do it

Access and Opening Hours:

Normal working hours are Mon-Fri 9-5pm. However, evening appointments are available for those in work or education—just let us know you need this.

You can be seen at either of our centres, in Yate or in Warmley. For those with specific access issues, a home visit can be arranged.

Jobs, Education, Training Information on a range of local courses, training and volunteering opportunities; Support to access funding for courses; IT access and support to prepare for work, develop CVs and conduct on line job searches; Advice on benefits including their implications for volunteering and going back to work; Advice on disclosing convictions.

Groups and activities; Support with accessing activities within the community as well as opportunities to participate in a range of activities at DHI Including our service user magazine, gardening projects etc; Opportunities for peers to develop and run their own activities; Access to mutual aid groups including SMART recovery groups; A range of complementary therapies including auricular acupuncture; Life skills training e.g. managing your tenancy.
