About Families in Focus
Families in Focus (FIF) is a multi- agency partnership approach to working with families in need of support, and for whom previous support has not been successful.

Overview
Families In Focus is the South Gloucestershire approach to the Troubled Families Agenda.
The multi agency teams work with families who need short term, or on going intensive support in order to make positive changes to their lives.
What we do
Eligibility
Families in Focus key workers, work closely with families who meet at least 2 of the 3 criteria below:
* a child involved in crime or anti social behaviour
* a child who is persistantly absent from education
* an adult who is currently claiming JSA
Plus, a locally idetified criteria which for South Gloucestershire is cost to local services.
How it works
Once a family has been identified for support, they will be allocated a key worker. The key worker will do the following:
- Provide self help material, signposting and onward referrals for families who don't require intensive support.
- Help families create their own action plan to address their needs and concerns.
- Providing direct access to the support the family requires
- Advocating on behalf or and negotiating for families

Where we do it
We provide support to families within their home, on the phone and at meetings in local community locations.
