New Domestic Abuse Service in Somerset
Added: 11 February 2015
From 13 January 2015, the management of Somerset County Council domestic abuse services has been taken over by Knightstone Housing, with all services accessed through a single contact point.
SIDAS, Somerset's refuge outreach services, will continue to help those who have experienced domestic abuse in the following ways:
- Accommodation across the County through a mix of refuge and safe-house properties for women, men and their children who need to flee their homes.
- Specialist community based support on a one-to-one or a group basis for female and male victims who want to stay in their homes.
- Support for children and young people affected by domestic abuse and parenting support programmes, working in partnership with Barnardo’s.
- A dedicated work programme for male perpetrators of domestic abuse to give them the opportunity to change their attitudes and behaviour.
All the services can be accessed by anyone - victims, perpetrators and professionals.
The services can be contacted on the freephone Somerset Domestic Abuse Support Line on 0800 69 49 999 or email: [email protected]
