Would you like to learn how to help the adults you work with to make changes in their use of drugs or alcohol?

Somerset Drug and Alcohol Partnership are offering the following FREE Courses. They are available for anyone working in a paid or voluntary capacity with adults in Somerset.

Alcohol Brief Interventions with Adults
Wednesday 21 May 2014 in Taunton

This course aims to equip participants with knowledge about alcohol; and to develop the techniques required to help older people adopt low risk drinking behaviour.

Drug and Alcohol Awareness
Thursday 3 July 2014 in Bridgwater

This course is aimed at people working with adults and families in any setting whose work brings them into contact with drug and alcohol users. It aims to raise awarness of drug and alcohol use; and build confidence in responding to that use and people's needs.

Motivational Interviewing
Friday 11 June 2014 in Taunton

Motivational interviewing is the lead approach to initiating change with drug and alcohol users. It will help you understand the spirit and principles of motivational interviewing. You will practise and develop your skills in helping people who are unsure of the need for change, to initiate and strengthen their motivation to change.
