Working with People who Self Injure
1 day course; 28th September & 8th December 2015
Aims:
- To develop participants’ knowledge and understanding of self-injury
- To identify some of the important issues arising in work with people who self-injure and to consider ways of dealing with these issues
- To explore the needs of people who self-injure
- To reflect on the practice of course members in working with people who self-injure
Understanding Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
1 day course: 2nd November 2015
Aims:
- Gain an understanding of how individuals are diagnosed with BPD and the impact of the symptoms and experiences associated with this diagnosis
- Reflect on the range of feelings, attitudes and responses that can arise when supporting people given this diagnosis and the practical implications
- Hear about the support and information that people with a BPD diagnosis have said they find helpful and discuss how to offer this support in practice
- Increase your knowledge and confidence about best practice for supporting people with a BPD diagnosis, including harm minimisation and person-centred practice
- Better understand the relationship between a BPD diagnosis and the use of self-injury
Course fee:
- £125 per person - statutory, independent and larger voluntary organisations (10 + employees)
- £95 per person - small voluntary organisations and individuals
