Our vision is to be the advice centre that best understands and serves the needs of local people. What drives us is to improve lives and communities, and provide high quality, independent advice services that are trusted, in an environment where people feel welcome.

Overview
St Pauls Advice Centre provides a free, impartial and confidential specialist welfare benefits and debt advice service from various locations across Ashley and East Bristol.
We also provide advice on:

* housing
* immigration issues
Our reception service can provide guidance and assistance to access resources and signpost to other agencies if appropriate
What we do
Welfare Benefits Advice
If you are having problems with your benefits, we can provide:
- Benefit entitlement checks to maximise your income and explain how to claim benefits.
- Help to understand how benefit rules affect you and explain your options.
- Negotiation with benefit departments on your behalf.
- Specialist advice on a full range of benefits including Employment Support Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, Disability Living Allowance, Job Seekers Allowance, Housing Benefit and more…
- Specialist advice on a full range of issues including, payment problems, sanctions, medical assessments, the ‘Bedroom Tax’ and more…
- Help to appeal against a negative benefit decision. We are able to deal with lower and upper tribunal appeals.
Debt Advice
If you are having problems dealing with debt, we can provide:
- Options for dealing with your debt.
- Help to budget, manage your money and complete a financial statement
- Specialist advice on how to deal with bailiffs, court action or eviction
- Help to organise your debts and explain which debts are most important
- Negotiation with people you owe money to, on your behalf
- Benefit entitlement checks to maximise your income
- Assistance to complete Debt Relief Order (DRO) Applications
We can also provide advice on immigration, housing, employment and consumer issues
Our reception service can provide guidance and assistance to access resources and signpost to other agencies if appropriate.
All our advice is free, independent and confidential.

Call us on 0117 955 2981 to book an appointment, confirm drop-in availability, or for any further information – the phone lines are always busy so please make sure you leave a message so we can get back to you.
Come to one of our Drop-in advice sessions either at the advice centre or one of our many outreach sessions – just make sure you arrive early as limited places are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. See ‘Where we do it’ for details.
