The Tenant Accreditation Scheme (TAS) is a programme aimed at helping you to move on successfully into independent housing.
The course is run by YMCA Routes for over 18s living in Taunton Deane, Sedgemoor and West Somerset.

Overview

The Tenant Accreditation Scheme is a programme aimed at helping you to move on successfully into independent housing. During the course, we will look at finding accommodation, how to afford your accommodation, your tenant responsibilities and how to keep your tenancy.
What we do
The course runs over a 2 week period and covers modules including:
1. Introduction & finding housing.
2. Home of my own.
3. Housing Costs
4. Looking after my home.
5. Looking after me.
6. What do I do if I need help.
The benefits of the TAS course include:
- Preference given on CBL system with Registered Social Landlords.
- Eligible for the Private Rented Scheme giving tenancy liaison and support to over 18 year olds and their landlord.
- Opportunity to meet and talk to different agencies such as housing advisors, housing benefit officers, environmental health, CAB and many more.
- You will be given the practical tools you need to move on and sustain long term housing and that when you complete the scheme, it will help potential landlords feel that you are more prepared for a tenancy.

We run courses across Sedgemoor, Taunton Deane and West Somerset. The course is run by YMCA Routes in partnership with Taunton Association for the Homeless.
